- Hides LED hotspots completely
- High light transmission (72%)
- Uniform light diffusion
- Smooth surface (Easy maintenance)
- Energy efficient for lightboxes
- UV stable and weather resistant
Standard opal acrylics often struggle to balance diffusion with brightness—either they are too transparent (revealing the LED dots) or too dense (wasting energy). SRT PMMA-Ice is engineered to solve this. It provides a perfect balance, diffusing light evenly to eliminate "hotspots" while maintaining a high luminous efficiency, making it the ideal substrate for energy-efficient LED signage and backlit displays.
SRT PMMA-Ice offers a light transmission of 72% (at 3mm thickness), significantly higher than many standard opal sheets. It features a specific "Half-Power Angle" of 55°, ensuring that light is scattered widely and evenly across the surface. This allows sign makers to place LED strips closer to the sheet (reducing profile depth) without creating visible stripes or dots.
Unlike frosted sheets which have a textured finish, SRT PMMA-Ice features a smooth, glossy surface. This makes it easy to clean, ideal for applying vinyl graphics, and suitable for hygienic environments. Like all SRT acrylics, it is fully UV-stable and weather-resistant, ensuring it will not yellow or become brittle even after years of outdoor exposure.
This material is designed for versatility. It can be laser cut to create intricate illuminated letters with polished edges. It allows for seamless solvent bonding (gluing) and can be thermoformed into complex 3D shapes for lighting fixtures or domes without losing its diffusive properties.
The go-to material for ultra-slim LED lightboxes in transit hubs and airports. Its advanced diffusion technology allows sign makers to place LED strips just centimeters behind the sheet without creating "hotspots," enabling thinner, sleeker profile designs that still deliver brilliant light output.
