- Dual Satin / Matt surface finish
- Insensitive to fingerprints
- High abrasion resistance
- Excellent light diffusion (No hotspots)
- Soft, warm aesthetic
- Easy to laser cut and polish
Standard frosted acrylics often suffer from showing fingerprints and scratching easily. SRT PMMA-Frost utilizes a specialized surface treatment that creates a velvety, warm texture that is insensitive to fingerprints and offers superior abrasion resistance compared to standard plastics. This makes it ideal for high-traffic areas where aesthetics must be maintained without constant cleaning.
With a light transmission of 70% and a half-power angle of 56°, SRT PMMA-Frost is an excellent diffuser. It effectively hides the filaments of LED bulbs, transforming harsh point sources into a soft, uniform glow. This makes it a preferred choice for sophisticated backlighting, architectural luminaires, and privacy glazing where light is needed but visibility must be obscured.
Despite its textured surface, SRT PMMA-Frost retains the fabrication versatility of standard acrylic. It can be laser cut, and unlike many textured sheets, the edges can be polished to a high gloss without affecting the surface finish. It bonds well with solvent adhesives and can be thermoformed into curved diffusers or furniture components.
Widely used for privacy partitions in open-plan offices and medical waiting rooms. The dual satin/matt texture diffuses light to maintain an airy feel while obscuring direct visibility. Crucially, its resistance to fingerprints means it stays looking professional even in high-touch areas where staff and patients frequently interact.
