UL 94 is a set of small scale tests that classify the flammability behavior of plastics. Common ratings include HB V 2 V 1 V 0 and 5V. Results depend on resin formulation color and thickness so always reference the tested thickness. UL 94 is a material test and does not by itself replace product or building codes. We supply and machine materials with available test reports where applicable.
UL 94 uses vertical and horizontal test methods to classify burning behavior and dripping. Ratings are assigned to a specific grade and thickness. V 0 indicates the most stringent vertical classification in this group while HB is a basic horizontal classification.

Flame results often change with thickness and color because additives and pigments influence performance. Always specify the required rating together with the minimum wall thickness and color. If your design uses multiple thicknesses choose the rating that covers the thinnest section. We can suggest material grades that retain performance at your target thickness.
Many FR ABS and PC ABS grades achieve UL 94 V 0 at defined thickness. Polycarbonate can also meet high ratings depending on the formulation and thickness. We can source and machine sheets plates and covers to your drawings and supply a Certificate of Conformity. Supplier test reports are available where applicable for the chosen grade and thickness.
